ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Aryan. I study MEng Computer Science at University College London (UCL).

As I continue my professional journey, I like to think of my career as one big learning experience that continuously grows with each project and collaboration. With a dedication to functionality and a curiosity for what’s ahead of the curve, I keep my work practical, relevant and creative. January 2021

Insight Day | BT

Had the wonderful opportunity to complete a Winter Insight Week program with BT. I learnt a lot about what goes on behind the scenes at BT and was thrilled to have this opportunity.

January 2021

Engineering Student Intern | Microsoft

Completed the Microsoft Engineering Virtual Internship, provided by Forage. The course provided me an excellent opportunity to develop an understanding of what an intern at Microsoft may work with in terms of engineering project management.

December 2020 - January 2021

Software Engineering Intern Student | JPMorgan Chase & Co.

  • Interfaced with a stock price data feed

  • Used JPMorgan Chase frameworks and tools

  • Displayed data visually for traders

March 2020 - September 2020

GCSE Maths & Physics Tutor

  • Taught secondary school students in GCSE level Maths and Physics during holidays.

  • By creating and maintaining a positive and responsive work environment, I raised the students’ understanding by approximately 20%, as shown by the regular tests/exams that would be supplied.

  • Developed revision programmes to successfully increase the productivity and efficiency of students’, enabling them to spend more quality time understanding the fundamentals of the subjects. Met the requirements of the customer and ratings on survey reports increase by 34% over the course of 6 months.

October 2019 - November 2019

Fleet Support Unit Intern | British Airways

  • Assisted Engineers in maintaining Boeing & Airbus aircrafts together with carrying out most heavy maintenance tasks and structural repairs.

  • Learnt how to recover aircraft and undertake turnaround quickly so that normal airport operations can resume as soon as possible.

  • Arranged aircraft appointments to be carried out.

August 2019 - September 2019

Student Assistant | University of Southampton

  • Participated in a team to do engineering projects.

  • Used BBC Microbits to produce sustainable solutions to current world problems - like poverty to climate change.

  • Our solution used two BBC Microbits which were programmed to communicate with each other by inbuilt radio, shared information about the climatic conditions and informed the user to adjust the temperature accordingly and save energy.

  • We also developed a heart rate sensor connected to a small LCD screen, giving a real-time reading of our heart rate. This has extended my overall understanding of how different electronic components work in tandem with computer systems.

DETECTING PARKINSON'S DISEASE

Python Machine Learning Project

(December 2020 - January 2021)

  • In this Python ML project, I built a model to accurately detect the presence of Parkinson’s disease in an individual, using the Python libraries scikit-learn, numpy, pandas, and XGBoost.

  • The program outputs a percentage, corresponding to how likely it is for the particular individual to have Parkinson's disease.
